I’m excited to share with you all these fun ways to incorporate the beloved Easter holiday in Primary! I’m sharing more than fun Easter Singing Time Ideas that focus on the fun side or the spiritual side of Easter so you can pick what’s best for your Primary.

Easter Singing Time Ideas for Primary
Let’s dive in first with all the fun singing time ideas I’ve created here on this blog especially for Easter! Then, we’ll move on to song-specific Easter activities. Plus, don’t miss additional activities from other Primary music leaders at the end.
1. Easter Christ’s Last Week
Walk through the last week of the Savior’s life with this lesson full of sensory items! The children will be able to touch and feel some of the objects significant to his last events such as the last supper, throwing out the shops from the Temple, nails in his palm, etc. I created this activity for Gethsemane, but it will work with any Easter song!
2. Easter Egg Song Hunt
Use these adorable printable Easter Eggs to have an Egg Hunt in Primary! You can write a variety of song titles (or verse #) on the back of the eggs or use a variety of ways to sing to repeat your choice of song over and over in a fun way. There’s even ideas for decorating your own Easter egg printables.
3. Easter Primary Connect 4 Game
For a really unique spin on your singing time for Easter, you’ll adore this Primary Connect 4 Game! It’s themed for Easter with colorful Easter eggs as the game pieces and some fun activities to extend your singing time with your own twists.
4. Easter Eggs Ways to Sing
Bring in a variety of pretty Easter eggs. I got these crystal clear ones from Dollar Tree a few years back and they’re just so pretty! Slip inside the eggs a variety of ways to sing and then pick an egg out of an Easter basket to reveal a new fun singing method and tie in the holiday while getting in tons of repetition with your song choice.
5. Easter Singing Time Bingo
Have fun with this group based Easter Bingo game or with individual bingo cards designed especially for Easter! Instead of needing to print a variety of Bingo cards, you’ll use the wild cards to randomize the winner and let more kids win – which they’ll love!
6. Resurrection Easter Eggs Singing Time
Hide a variety of symbols that represent the symbols tied to the Resurrection with this wonderful themed singing time for Easter! It’s designed to work with Did Jesus Really Live Again, but can work with any song. Pass around an Easter egg with the object inside, then open the egg and reveal the hidden meanings.
7. Easter Symbols
Learn about all the different and important symbols of Easter and how they relate to the Savior and his resurrection with this fun Easter Symbols singing time activity. The kids will learn a little more about the deeper meaning of some of our holiday traditions while you sing through your Easter song of choice!

1. Gethsemane
What better way to have fun with an Easter song than bringing in your Egg shakers! It ties into the holiday perfectly with adorable egg shaped shakers. I have a fun pattern for Egg Shakers to teach Gethsemane that would make a wonderful activity for Easter Sunday.
2. He Sent His Son
Adding movement to your singing time is always a wonderful way to get all of the children involved. In this He Sent His Son Sway and Freeze activity adds purposeful movement and with a nice flow that fits in really well for Easter.
3. Did Jesus Really Live Again
If you’re teaching Did Jesus Really Live Again, this cup pattern is a really engaging way to have fun with this song and making music together as a Primary! The kids will be itching to get up and moving after an Easter basket full of treats that morning. You’ll love this constructive outlet for burning energy!
4. Jesus Has Risen
Take the time to sing Jesus Has Risen with a Song Story! It’s a great way to weave in the traditions of Easter while teaching the true meaning of the season with a beautiful interweaving of the lyrics.
5. I Know My Father Lives
If you want to get hands on and a little STEM-based in Primary, the kids will really love diving into the signs of life and how they might relate to Christ before he died, how the people knew he had actually died, and what it means to be resurrected and live again!
6. When He Comes Again
Hide images behind a fun scratch & match activity to add to the intrigue for singing time! It ties in wonderfully with an Easter theme of hidden things and let’s you keep on working on a song you might be teaching this year.
7. Easter Hosanna
What better instrument to bring in for your Easter singing time than pipe chimes? They just feel like the perfect spring instrument to use and with this fun Easter Hosanna Pipe Chimes activity you’ll add a special chimes section to the chorus to add emphasis!

Palm Sunday Easter Ideas
I adore this meaningful activity created by Penny Hughes that she shared in the Latter-day Saints Primary Leaders FB Group. She goes step by step through all the meaningful parts of Palm Sunday when Christ enters Jerusalem including showing a short video clip of his triumphal entry, waving palm leaves, and a fun sequence singing pattern, too! I love that she used a ton of different Easter songs!
You can grab a set of palm leaves on Amazon for pretty cheap, and it really adds a nice touch to this activity! And of course, look at all those beautiful goodies she brought in to share – dates, coconut, palm sugar, coconut flour and coconut milk.
Did Jesus Really Live Again Picture Puzzle
Teach LDS Children came up with this adorable idea to retell the lyrics of Did Jesus Really Live again with a comic book style, and then flip over all the pieces to reveal a completely hidden picture of the resurrected Savior! I love how this idea all came together and it could be easily adapted to fit any Easter song.
