Choose the Right Way Sign Language
How to Play:
Sing through Choose the Right Way (Flip Chart here) once before introducing your signs.
Tell the kids you hear a few special words in the song, and you want to add sign language to help you remember those special words. Can they copy you? Make the sign for “right”. Let’s try it with the song. Every time you sing right, let’s make this sign.

Continue singing through the song and adding a new sign after each verse.
When you’ve added all 4 signs, invite several children or one of the classes to come up front to sing with the signs! Everyone else follows along, too. Then, switch to new volunteers or a new class and repeat.

Choose the Right Way
Sign Language Signs Explained
Choose – Hold your thumb and pointer finger out and face them downward. Make a “pinching” action by bringing your thumb and pointer finger together. Just like if you were picking something small up out of the air in front of you.

Right – Point both pointer fingers out. Tap the right fist on top of the left fist. Your pointer fingers will be facing different directions forming a “V.”

Way – Hold both hands with your hands straight up and down with the fingers pointing straight forward. Hold your hands about hip height and close to your body. Move both hands forward in a straight direction away from your body.

Happy – Hold your right hand flat and close to your body. Move your hand upwards and inwards towards your body then upwards and outward moving away from your body. Like you’re drawing a “C” shape in front of you. Do this motion twice.
