This fun Heads or Tails singing time review game came to me in the middle of the night this week and I am so excited about it! It’s a great way to sing through a single song or a mix of songs on repeat with a random selection of which group will sing!
Heads or Tails Singing Review Game
How to Play:
Pick one main song or a variety of song you want to sing through a bunch of times on repeat with a fun activity for dividing the room.
If including multiple songs, write your song list on the board and repeat the first one a few times before switching to the next song – depending on how to best divide your available time.
Select one of the Heads vs Tails options of ways to divide the room.
Then, use a coin to flip in the air, catch the coin, and then flip it from your one hand to the top of your other hand to reveal if you have a heads (front side of the coin) or tails (back side of the coin).
Everyone will sing on some of the cards such as verse vs chorus, fast vs slow, 1st verse vs 2nd verse.
Half of the group will sing on the other cards that divide the space such as girls vs boys, tall vs short, kids vs teacher, and right and left side of the room.
Extension Activities:
- Have everyone call out if they better fit the “heads” or the “tails” or raise their hand for their side as you call out each title. Some will be based on which option is a better fit for them and others they can vote on which one they’re hoping will win!
- Let the kids pick from the option cards before each coin toss. Select someone who has been participating or let the children call out a favorite one to try next and use the one the kids are excited about.
- Cut the cards in half and mix and match the combinations. Can they find the match or another fun combination to try?
- Let a child do the coin toss for you. You might consider bringing in a large coin or using a digital coin toss app to make it a little more visible for the room to be able to see as well.
