My General Conference Notes

I designed these two simple and easy note-taking pages to help encourage your Primary children to listen and participate in General Conference. It will keep them busy and productive and help encourage them to listen to the apostles!

Earn a Reward: Encourage the children to watch General Conference with their families at home and bring back their filled in notes sheet! You can pass out rewards like a cute scripture bookmark or a treat for those that bring in their paper.

Primary Goal: Have the Primary class set a goal for how many returned notes they think they can receive! You can guide them towards a realistic goal (maybe aim for half of the Primary). Then, tell them if they achieve the goal, you’ll bring back a FAVORITE singing time activity such as singing measles if you reach the goal. Of course, you can also reward the Primary children with a treat for the room if they have met the goal as well.

After Conference: Pass out the printables the week after General Conference and ask the children to think back to a favorite story or lesson they heard. Let them write or color in their response. Then, tell them to write their name on their paper or their favorite Primary song. If you draw their card – sing their song choice! If they just wrote their name, you can ask them to pick a song or to lead the music.

Teacher Stories: Start by asking a few teachers, your pianist, and the Presidency to think of theirs and share it in 30 seconds or less each so you don’t eat up time. This will help the kids that may not have watched or may be too young to remember what was said until they hear the story again and remember it.

Pick a Helper: Use their completed notes pages to randomly select your helpers for one week! It’s a simple and treat-free way to encourage participation that won’t make those that forgot or didn’t have a chance to watch conference feel singled out.

This printable includes a simple printout where the children can draw a picture (or write the apostles name) in the space and then fill in their speech bubble with a word, topic, story, or picture about the conference address.

It includes 4 spots so you’ll want to print out 2-pages per session. Or, just aim for them to complete at least 4 while listening. Most General Conference sessions includes 7-8 talks so they can have a few to pick from.
