Sing With Emojis Singing Time Game
How to Play:
Introduce all of your new songs for the year or review all of your Program songs at the end of this year with these adorable set of emojis!!
Pick out your songs to include. Tell the children you will sing through the song and then the group can pick an emoji that they think captures the emotion of how the song was sung.
Pick a unique emoji (there are 20 to choose from) for each of the songs! You can print out just your favorites from the list below but consider adding a few extras than one per song to give options!
Continue singing through different songs and assigning emojis! It’s just a fun subtle theme to give you lots of time to sing and make your way through 8-10 songs during singing time.
5 More Fun Ways to Play:
Moving Up the Ranks: Use this activity over several weeks to track their song progress until they’re all amazing! Pick 5 of the included emojis from not so great to amazing and then let the kids repeat singing until all of the songs make the top tier emoji! Use whichever ones you like best, but here are some possible tiers:
- ???????????????? Any of these are perfect for the TOP tier! – AMAZING!
- ???? or ???? – Very Nice
- ???? or ???? – Almost There
- ???? or ???? – Not Quite
- ???? or ???? – Needs Work
Pick 2: Have the kids (or you) pick 2 emojis and then you (or the kids) pick which of the two is the better fit. This will help to limit the options, but still pick emojis that are well fitting for the performance.
Emoji Goals: Have the children pick an emoji before they start singing – can they match the emotion? This is a great option especially for new songs they haven’t learned yet. They can choose to be silly, sing cool, try to sing quietly, etc.
Matching Emojis: Half way through your song list, tell them now you’re going to switch gears and see if they can MATCH the emoji! Sing the next song with the same emotion of how one of your previous 4-5 songs ranked.
Emoji Pictures: Have the children line up in front of their songs and selected emojis and snap a picture! Compare to the end of the year their progress as they fall in love with these songs.
