I’m so excited to use this cute Valentine’s Day Love Rash & Singing Measles activity in singing time this year! With so few materials required, these two activities make for a great Valentine’s Day singing time!
Spread the “Love Rash” in primary by picking one child and giving them a heart sticker. Then, have that child pick two more people to “infect,” and see how quickly love spreads!

Valentine’s Day Love Rash & Singing Measles
Both of these cute activities work great for reviewing any primary song you are working on. You could also use them to review a couple songs! The idea behind these activities is pretty similar.
During primary, teachers can post stickers on children who are participating and singing. By the time singing time is over, everyone is covered in “singing measles!” I’ve also seen the activity reversed – the kids get to give you the measles! Either way, it gets lots of laughs and fun review time!
All you need for this activity is stickers. LOTS of stickers. I grabbed mine from the Dollar Tree, but you can also get this 60 pack of heart stickers from Amazon for pretty cheap too! I’ve included full instructions for both activities below.
I also got a few large felt hearts for children who may not want to have stickers on them. You could get some non-adhesive hearts or cut out some hearts with cardstock. When they get chosen, just give them a large heart to hold!
If using this activity outside of Valentine’s Day, you could get simple stickers like these ones on Amazon. It’s not a bad idea to have some extra stickers on hand in case you run out too quickly!
How to Play Love Rash:
Choose which song(s) you want to review. This activity works great as a review for one song or multiple songs! If using multiple songs, write the songs on strips of paper or have them written up on the board.
At the beginning of singing time, review the songs you will be singing for the day. Then, introduce the activity by bringing out your heart stickers. Ask the children how fast they think love can spread. Ask them to share ways they can show love to others.
Start singing one of the songs again. This time, have a few teachers look around the room for one child who is singing and being exceptionally reverent. This child is chosen to have the “love rash.” This child gets to have a big heart sticker put on them.
The next time you sing through the song, the child with the love rash gets to spread it to two more kids! Those two kids get to pass it on to two more kids each (7 total by this point).
Each time someone new is chosen to have the “love rash,” give them two stickers to pass on to another child. See how quickly the room fills up with the love rash!
End the activity by sharing your testimony on Christlike love and kindness. Help the children reverently understand how love can be shared with others.
How to Play Singing Measles:
Make sure you have lots of stickers on hand for this one! Just like the love rash activity, choose a few songs to review or use the song you are learning this month.
Sing through the song(s) once or twice to remind the children of how the song goes. Then, sing through the song again. This time, pass out a pad of stickers to each teacher and have them put stickers on kids who are singing and participating
There is no limit to the number of “singing measles” that a child can have! They should be covered in measles by the time singing time is over!
Instead of giving “singing measles” to the kids, let them give it to you! Stand at the front of the room. Have the teachers give stickers to children to come stick to you during singing time!

Valentine’s Day Love Rash & Singing Measles Printable
You don’t really need anything for this activity besides stickers, but I made some cute Love Rash & Singing Measles posters to add some more silliness to the activity.
Once you decide which activity you’ll be using (or both), just print out one of these cute posters to put on the board. You could print out a few copies to post around the room!
