I Want to Live the Gospel Crossword Puzzle
How to Play:
Pick out which style you want to play:
Lyrics – Decode the clues line by line through the song – best for learning the song. (Print the Lyrics Style – no labeled boxes needed).
Across/Down – Start with the clues in order – great for review or after a few weeks with the song (Print the Across/Down style with labeled squares).
Sing through I Want to Live the Gospel (flip chart) once, before introducing this singing time idea.
Now, show the crossword puzzle.
Read the first clue, and have the kids help you answer the first clue. Sing through the song for help if they need guidance for filling in the missing word.
You’ll fill in the clues either in the order of the lyrics (easier version for Junior Primary) or you can use the across/down clues and give them just one short piece of the lyrics and have the kids help fill in the blank!
Continue singing through the song and answer in 1-2 clues each time.
You’ll get in so much singing repetition while having a lot of fun and really helping the children to learn exactly what the words are!
Extension Activities:
- Word Bank – Up the challenge without the help of lyrics! The words will interconnect and help with the words to use.
- Color Words – Pick an action to add for each color! Or, sing the keywords that match any color you’re wearing!
- Sing & Clap – Sing the colored keywords with extra volume and excitement! Add a clap for each keyword!
