The Senior primary loves a challenge – and this one lets them use a big fat marker to show just how smart they are.. bring it on!
In the Not That Word Game for My Heavenly Father Loves Me the kids job will be to eliminate words that don’t belong.

My Heavenly Father Loves Me
Not That Word
This challenges uses three similar words for each of the main keywords throughout the 1st verse of the song My Heavenly Father Loves Me.
This game will be best for Senior Primary only, try using the Pick a Picture Phrase game for your Junior primary instead.
For Senior Primary, give them three words to choose from for each part of the song. Let the kids come up to cross out one of the words that DOESN’T belong.
It works best if you start off the game by being very obvious with the first line of the song, enunciating the words, and crossing off one WRONG word.
Be a little dramatic when you’re doing it. The concept of picking the wrong word to cross off isn’t natural for most kids, so this will help clarify what the task is.
You can use any big, thick marker you want – but I like to use a King Size Sharpie! They’re not very expensive and they’re super helpful for organizing your food storage (that’s what I first bought mine for!)
They make this game extra fun! It’s always fun to take a big thick marker and cross something off!
When you’ve finally made your way through the song crossing off the WRONG words, you can sing through with one last challenge round now asking all your singers to clap instead of singing the keywords.
You’ll sing through the song like normal, clapping whenever one of your RIGHT words would come next.
