Tell Me the Stories of Jesus Flip Chart & Lyrics

Tell Me the Stories of Jesus isn’t a song I remember from my own childhood days in Primary, but I love the simple and sweet message of these lyrics. The lyrics that tell of a little child eagerly wanting to hear about Jesus and his life!

I think this song fits so beautifully with the idea and changes with the new Come, Follow Me New Testament Primary curriculum that I was excited to add this as one of my program songs for the year!

Tell Me the Stories of Jesus Flip Chart

This flip chart has a 2-page spread for the first two verses. I try to condense my flip charts down to as few of pages as possible, while still keeping the font nice and big. I also like to incorporate a pretty picture that ties into the words.

I don’t find that the 3-5 year old’s paid much attention to the pictures (as far as gaining any insight to the words) so I cater my flip charts to the teachers and readers in the room. The littles learn best by hearing the words and having the other kiddos in the room sing more confidently really helps with this!

Verse 1:
Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear,
Things I would ask him to tell me if he were here.
Scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,
Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

Verse 2:
Oh, let me hear how the children stood round his knee.
I shall imagine his blessings resting on me;
Words full of kindness, deeds full of grace,
All in the love-light of Jesus’ face.

Verse 3:
Tell me, in accents of wonder, how rolled the sea,
Tossing the boat in a tempest on Galilee!|
And how the Master, ready and kind,
Chided the billows and hushed the wind.
