An Angel Came to Joseph Smith Scripture Connection

An Angel Came to Joseph Smith is tied closely to several stories found in the scriptures, which makes it a great song to reinforce a scripture connection! For this An Angel Came to Joseph Smith Scripture Connection lesson plan, we’ll let the kids learn about the stories and how the verses tie into the scriptures (and a conference address!)

An Angel Came to Joseph Smith Scripture Connection

These lesson plan are best for Senior Primary, but can also adapted to work for Junior primary.

Start by singing through An Angel Came to Joseph Smith (flip chart here) once before introducing the activity.

Assign each class one of the scripture connection lesson plans. You can hand out duplicates if you’re not using all 4 verses.

You can ask the teachers to spend the last 5 minutes of class time reading through the lesson plan and preparing for Primary.

Or, pass out the lesson plans and have the pianist play through the music a few times while the kids work through the lesson plan.

Then, let one group come up to summarize and teach the lesson plan, then help conduct and lead in sing the corresponding verse.

If you want to use this lesson plan in Junior Primary, simplify the lesson plan and ask one of the children from each class come up to read a single scripture verse – and then sing the related verse.
