I had so much fun creating a set of brand new Primary Song Snowflakes with some fun themes like Come Follow Me (loaves and fishes pictured here), Noah’s Ark, Gethsemane, and more! Plus, you can use this huge collection of OCD Song Snowflakes. It’s a fun simple way to sing through a variety of songs for the new year with a winter theme!
3. Primary New Years Goals

If you want to set your Primary off on the right foot for the new year, why not work through some goals together with this cute Primary New Year Goals lesson plan! There are 3 in the post, but you can extend it to fit whatever your particular Primary might need to work on for the year.
4. Name That Tune Song Championship

See how quickly your Primary children can recognize the tune with just a couple notes, or the whole first line in this fun Name That Tune Song Championship! You’ll up the challenge by assigning the songs a trophy based on how quickly they can guess the tune to help engage the children in active participation.
5. Time of Your Life
It’s “time” to have fun with a singing time activity all about timepieces. In this Time of Your Life + Singing Speed Cards lesson you’ll introduce some different ways we keep time and talk about songs from the past OR song for the future and optionally include a variety of different speeds to sing with.
6. Sing with Emoji Game

Let the children pour out all their emotions with this SO CUTE Sing with Emoji Game! There’s a set of 20 different emojis with or without a simple description that the children can pick from after singing each of your new songs to express how they’re feeling about the song picks.

Let the children help you build a flower with this adorable Learn & Grow Flower singing time idea! You can use this activity in one Sunday, or add to your flower throughout the year with each new month as you learn new songs!
8. Candy for Courage
A real winner anytime of the year is playing a game of Candy for Courage! This would work best by letting the children sing their FAVORITE song as a solo or with friends to earn a treat. It’s like a karaoke game, with prizes!
9. Pin the Primary Song
One of my favorites for a sub can work any Sunday of the year is this Pin the Primary Song activity. You’ll fill a poster with songs from the past, future, or both! Then let fate decide which songs you’ll sing this week.
10. Teach Conducting & Rhythm!
There’s sure to be LOTS of wiggles in the Primary room due to the holiday and festivities, so why not turn to a super useful lesson plan that will give them movement and purpose! You can teach the children How to Conduct Music with this fun beat and rhythms activity.
11. Snowball Singing

Your Primary kiddos will be thrilled to toss singing snowballs in Singing Time with this idea from The Primary Pad!
You’ll print a variety of ways to sing out (see that post for 110 ideas you can include!) and then crumble them up into snowballs. If they toss and hit a snowman, you’ll reveal what the way to sing was and sing through your song!
As a fun alternative, you can also let the kids write their favorite song on a blank sheet of paper and try tossing their custom made snowballs to pick the song to sing.
12. Party Poppers
Make your own party in your Primary room with easy party poppers! The kids will be over the moon to pull a party popper to help reveal your song selections. Head over to see this fun craft tutorial to make homemade party poppers with your own songs inside!
