You’ll have so much fun getting up and marching around your Primary room with this Standing on the Promises Marching Commands singing time activity! Fun, easy, and something that all of the kids will love.

Standing on the Promises Marching Commands
Sing through Standing on the Promises once, before introducing this activity.
This song has the fun cadence of an army song, let’s sing while we march with some simple military marching commands to follow as we sing.
Let the kids take turns being in charge of changing the marching commands. You can give them a pointer to point at commands as you go and call the command!
6 Easy Marching Commands:
- Forward March – March in place, facing the front of the room
- Right March – March in place, facing the right side of the room
- Left March – March in place, facing the left side of the room
- Rear March – March in place, facing the back of the room
- Halt – Stop marching (for fun you can freeze in place!)
- Attention – Feet with heels together and arms at sides
Extension Activities:
- Add in 9 additional marching actions with our extended printables!
- Take your marching outside! Use a field connected to your ward building or a parking lot if you don’t have any movement between wards coming and going.
- Invite an individual from your ward who is active duty (if you have someone) to come in uniform to help you lead this activity! It would be a fun way to help the kids learn about a ward member and increase your participation!
