How to Play:

Pick a song (or several songs) you’d like to sing through with this activity.

Ask the children if they know what holiday is coming up this week. See if they can guess St Patrick’s Day! We’re going to have some fun today and learn a little bit about each other. Let’s see how Irish you are.

Let a child come up and pick one of the cards and read it or hand it to you to read. Have any children that can answer YES to the main prompt, or the bonus prompt get to come up front and help you lead the song!

aIf you end up with a large group of YES responses, you can have them all come up front, they think it’s really fun to have more kids up front than in their spots, or just pick 3-5 children that may not have had a chance to come up front yet.

Sing through your song before moving on to your next question!

Extension Activities:

Leading Wand: Let the main questions lead up front and the bonus answers get to hold a special leading wand in their spot in the room.

Team Points: Split the room in half into two groups. Have the children raise their hand if either one of the questions apply! Tally points up on the white board with one point per raised hand on each side of the room. The kids LOVE to compete, even if it isn’t really a competition!

Gold Coin Prize: You can consider passing out a gold coin or those gold coin chocolates at the end of Primary for a fun themed treat for the kids! They love to go home with something.

They usually have a fuzzy green boa feather scarf or big silly green glasses. You can have them wear it through the next time singing through the song, then pass it to another friend.
