Verse 1:
I love to see the temple.
I’m going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit,
To listen and to pray.
For t For the temple is a house of God,
A place of love and beauty.
I’ll prepare myself while I am young;
This is my sacred duty.

Verse 2:
I love to see the temple.
I’ll go inside someday.
I’ll cov’nant with my Father;
I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place
Where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth:
A fam’ly is forever.

Verse 3*:

I love to see the temple
Shine brightly through the night
A beacon to all people
Of purity and light
For the temple is a sacred place
Where worthy Saints assemble
To receive the holy ord’nances
Performed in God’s own temple.

(*Official 3rd verse written by Janice Kapp Perry for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir)

I don’t repeat the chorus, because generally by the time you’ve taught and learned the 1st verse, the chorus is a piece of cake and the kids don’t need to refer back to it.

  1. Love this! The only thing I saw that was wrong with the emoji pics was “sum” for “i’m going there some day”, is that you put multiply in there which would be ‘product’, not ‘sum’. Maybe change it to a “plus” sign rather than a “multiply” sign? 🙂

    • Hey Laura! The large X was meant to represent I’m going “THERE” someday, not Sum! Hope that makes more sense. “Someday” was just represented by the calendar. Glad to be able to clarify that, though, as I’m sure some others may think the same thing.
