You Primary kids will love decoding what the different symbols represent as they learn and sing along to I Feel My Savior’s Love Crack the Code game.
This crack the code helps to highlight the connection with the child, our Heavenly Father, and the way we feel which is perfect to help increase understanding and meaning with the words of the song.
My primary kids always love a good crack the code! We’ve done a few in the past, and it’s one of their favorite Logical Singing Time learning styles!

How to Play:
Sing through I Feel My Savior’s Love once, before introducing the lesson activity. You might consider starting with this I Feel My Savior’s Love Flip chart to help!
Post the crack the code posters from below, selecting which posters and verses you’d like to include. I usually stick to just one verse per week, but you can include more than one if you’re reviewing the song or know the children are ready for it.
Ask the children what do they see? What patterns do they notice? Sing through the song again while they look for the patterns.
Ask if the children might know what one of the crack the code symbols represents or means. Take answers until you get one correct answer. Let’s sing it together to check and see if they are right!
Continue singing through the song and cracking the code until all four symbols have been decoded.
Skip singing all the dot words. Now try it the other way around and sing only the dot words!
Extension Activities:
- Split the Primary room into groups by color. You could make 2, 3, or 4 groups. Have each group sing their colored words. Then switch colors!
- Add an action for each color. You might stomp for the green stars, and clap for the purple up arrows and pat for the red squiggles. Introduce one action at a time to add even more repetition into your Singing Time!
- Let the kids find another word/idea they can make a symbol for. Maybe “know” or “give”. Have them replace the dots with a new symbol!
