I love this Let’s Go Fly a Kite singing time review activity to use in the springtime when you have had a few months to teach some of the songs and are ready to practice and run though all of them to help the kids remember each of the songs.
This is a perfect activity for springtime or Easter singing time that can be used to review a single song or a mix of songs. You can even use this activity to track your primary program songs review!

Spring Fly a Kite Song Review
Post these darling kites up on the board. Prepare ahead of time a list of songs. You can write the song title of your choice or a number on the back of each kite.
Invite a child to come up front to pick one of your kites. Reveal the song title or number and then sing through the song together.

Let that child hold the kite and raise it up high to sing loud and bring it down low to lower the volume. Have everyone follow along with the singing volume to match the level of the kite!
Continue to make your way through the list of song to review, or mix it up with one of the additional ways to play below!
More Ways to Play
Move Like a Kite: Add in movement directions instead of volume control. Invite the children to all stand and pretend to be a kite! Tell them they don’t want to end up all the way down on the ground or they won’t be able to get lift again. Can you stay on your feet but move higher and lower with the kite movement? Now, can you sway right and left without touching your neighbor? You don’t want your strings to cross!
Find the Kites: Hide the kites around the room. Invite a child to hunt for a kite and your next song to sing while you sing through your song of choice.

Ways to Sing: Let a child draw a way to sing card out of the jar. I have a massive list of over 110 different ways to sing that you can use to have lots of variety! Or, repurpose some of your teaching activities from earlier in the year.
Musical Kites: Play a game of musical chairs with a twist! Print and laminate different kites. Invite one class to come up and stand on the kites. Have one extra kites than children that will be playing. Have the children walk from kite to kite as the music plays. When the song ends, everyone freezes! Sing whichever song is left empty! Then, play again with a new group of kids and a more kites based on your player count.

Pass the Kite: Pass the kite for the song you’re singing. Randomly pause the music and quiz the child holding the kite to say or sing the next word!
Program Review Game: Use can use this activity again to review all of your program songs! Just assign each song to a different kite. Then, post the different levels or draw increasing levels of clouds and stars on a big poster board. Raise the kite higher and higher as they perfect the songs! You can use the song key to remember which kite represents each song or write the song title on the kite!
