General Conference Apostle Trivia
You will love this fun trivia activity! I enjoyed learning more about where our current apostles are from, what they did in their professions, and when they joined the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles!
I will probably be using this activity the week before General Conference, so that the kids can go home and quiz their families before conference weekend! You could also use this activity the week after conference and quiz the children on what each apostle talked about during General Conference!
This activity is meant to be a fun, simple way to help the children understand the importance of listening to the words of prophets and apostles. I’ve included a printable with 10 trivia questions and pictures of apostles.
During primary, read the trivia questions and have the children try to guess which apostle the question goes with! Some questions have more than one answer!
Prepare for this activity by cutting out the trivia word strips and pictures of the apostles. Put the pictures up on the board before primary.
At the beginning of primary, share your excitement for General Conference. You might ask the children if they have any special family traditions around conference time. This is also a great time to sing a primary song about prophets.
Challenge the kids to see if they can name all the apostles. This will help them be better prepared for the game! You can use the pictures and help them out if they miss a few.
Ask the children if they are up for some trivia! Read one of the trivia word strips aloud. See if the kids can correctly guess the apostle(s) that the question applies to. Have the children raise their hand to answer.
If they guess correctly, have them come match the trivia question to the apostle. If there is more than one answer, you can put those apostles next to each other on the board.
Each time you answer a trivia question correctly, choose another song to sing. You can review any primary song you are teaching or focus on songs about prophets.
Continue matching the trivia questions to the apostles until you have correctly matched all 10 trivia questions. Encourage your primary kids to quiz their families at home!

Here’s some examples of trivia questions included in this activity. In the printable later in this post, you’ll find 10 trivia questions, as well as pictures of the apostles to print and cut out.
I tried to choose a mix of easy and more challenging questions. Here are some of my favorites!
- Which apostle is known for his stories about his time as a fighter pilot? ANSWER: Dieter F. Uchtdorf
- Which apostle served as a Justice of the Utah Supreme Court? ANSWER: Dallin H. Oaks
- Which two apostles were born and raised in California? ANSWER: Gerrit W. Gong & David A. Bednar
Extension Activities:
- Have a competition between two sides of the classroom! Keep a tally on the board for both teams. As you read the questions, see which side can correctly match the trivia question to the apostle picture. Have a small prize at the end for the side that correctly answers the most trivia questions!
- Write a primary song on the back of each trivia word strip. After answering the trivia question, sing the indicated song together.
- Give each class an equal number of trivia word strips. Have each class work together to solve their trivia questions. Then, have them quiz the rest of the class!
