Holy Places Spiritual Videos
Do you like to incorporate technology in your singing time plans? Sharing an inspirational video can be a neat way to capture everyone’s attention as you introduce a new song.
When I was a primary music leader, I brought out videos a few times a year and the kids just loved it! Switching things up a bit and sharing a video can help your primary children connect spiritually (more spiritual connection ideas) with a song. These special moments can leave a lasting impression on them as they go through each week.
For a unique way to introduce or review Holy Places in singing time, consider sharing a few of these videos to help your primary children better understand the message of this lovely song.

Where are some holy places in your life? This song teaches about three different places that can become holy – the temple, our homes, and our hearts. I’ve compiled church videos that correspond with each of these topics.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints YouTube channel has a wonderful collection of Bible videos, inspirational messages, and music videos. You don’t have to look too far at all to find something that is spiritually uplifting.
For this activity, I’ve chosen two video options for each verse of this hymn. Some videos are animated, some include music, and some tell a simple story. It’s up to you to decide which videos you think will resonate most with your primary children! You can also choose to share a video for each verse, or just focus on one verse.
I always, always recommend checking (and rechecking) your technology beforehand to be sure there will be no hiccups during singing time. Whether you are borrowing a television from your building’s library or just bringing in a laptop, getting everything set up ahead of time will ease so much stress!
At the beginning of singing time, your primary children will likely be curious to see something new in the room. Today we are going to watch a video. Watch carefully and pay attention to how you feel during the video.
After playing the video, ask a few volunteers to share any feelings they had while watching the video. Can anyone guess what song we’ll be singing? This song is in the new hymnbook. Are you ready to learn it?
At this point, pull out a copy of our Holy Places flip chart and start teaching the lyrics. I find call/response to be really effective for teaching new lyrics. As you work through the song one line at a time, go back and sing it in chunks to help your primary children retain what they are learning. Then, finish with your testimony.
Verse 1: The Temple is a Holy Place
Temples Are a Beacon Video
This Temples Are a Beacon video shares a sweet story about a family who made many sacrifices to be able to be sealed in the temple. This 3-minute video is perfect for keeping kiddos engaged!
Latter-Day Saint Temples Video
Help your primary children learn more about what temples by watching this short 1-minute video about Latter-day Saint Temples. I like this video because it provides a very basic explanation about what we do in temples. As you watch this video, your primary children will be able to better understand how temples bring us closer to Jesus Christ.
Verse 2: A Home Can Be a Holy Place
Families Can Be Together Forever Music Video
For a musical option, this Families Can Be Together Forever music video compiles images of families serving and loving one another. It also includes some words by President Henry B. Eyring about the importance of family.
As you watch this video and listen to the music, encourage your primary children to think about how they can help make their home a holy place.
Raising a Family: Learning the Ropes Together Video
This Raising a Family: Learning the Ropes together video tells about a family who bonds over their shared love for roping! This video comes from the Happy Families Playlist, ALL of which are fantastic videos! I just chose this one because I thought the children might enjoy seeing all the fun ways we can learn and grow within our families.
Verse 3: My Heart Can Be a Holy Place
Stand in Holy Places Latter-Day Kids Video
Watch this short animated Latter-Day Kids video that uses a metaphor about crossing a river to teach about the importance of standing in holy places. This can be a great reminder of how following the commandments can help us feel closer to Heavenly Father in our daily lives and protect us from Satan’s deceptions.
Peace Through Prayer – Gospel For Kids Video
This animated Peace Through Prayer video tells a story of a brother and sister who feel peace despite frightening circumstances. This story is a great example of how our hearts can become holy places by trusting in our loving Heavenly Father.

Extension Activities:
- Practice with a sing-along video! Follow along with the lyrics for another fun way to use technology as you teach this song!
- Choose scriptures or conference talks that correspond with each verse. President Eyring’s talk in April 2021 entitled, “I Love to See the Temple” is a great talk to pull from for the first verse!
- After watching one of the spiritual videos, break into small groups to share how we can stand in holy places. Discuss ways to make your homes and hearts holy places and talk about the importance of the temple.
