I’m excited for this fun activity to crack what words are hidden in this I Feel My Savior’s Love Primary Colors lesson plan. Challenge the Primary kids to make connections with the lyrics and the colors and then tie it all back together by using the color code to fill in a big heart!

I’ve also included lots of fun extension ideas to help this activity perfectly fit your Primary group. If you’re teaching I Feel My Savior’s Love this year in Primary, this activity will be a winner!

I Feel My Savior’s Love Primary Colors

Sing through I Feel My Savior’s Love song once through first.

Introduce the posters with the words or word blanks depending on how much help you think the kids need with the additional lyrics. If it’s more of a review you should be able to skip revealing the additional words!

Ask the children what they see and notice. They’ll point out different colors, different sizes of colored boxes, etc. Ask them to see if they can crack the Primary Color code. Sing through the song again.

Now, ask the children what they noticed. What might the blue color represent or stand for? Take their answer, and then try it.

Did every blue word represent the Savior? Yes! Great job! Can you solve for the next color?

Continue working your way solving for the 3 colors.

Color Code: Use this color guide to help you explain each of the colors.

• Red = Love + Feelings
  • Feel, Love, Warms, Heart, Peace, Blessed
• Yellow = References to Self
  • I, Me, My
• Blue = Savior
  • Savior, He, and Him

Heart Code:

• Fill in the heart guide using words from the color code.
• Blue: Savior
• Red: Loves
• Yellow: Me

Extension Activities:

• Break the kids into 3 equal groups – Red, Yellow, and Blue. The groups sing their colored words, and skip singing the other 2 colors. Now, switch to a new color!
• Clap for all yellow words, pat your hand on your heart for all red words, and stomp for the blue words.
• Senior Primary: Fill in the blanks or write in the colored words.
