Have you picked out a fun way to teach I Will Follow God’s Plan yet? I’ve come up with a super simple but really fun game the Primary children are going to love! Challenge them with this I Will Follow God’s Plan Scrambled Letters activity.
You’ll have 6 helpers come up front to hold a letter card and have the Primary unscramble their order and then flip over for a hidden message!

I Will Follow God’s Plan Scrambled Letters
How to Play:
Print out these pages in either full page or half page size. For full page, you’ll want to print on both sides of the paper with a portrait orientation. For half page, print single sided, then fold the paper in half.
Sing through I Will Follow God’s Plan Lyrics once, before introducing this activity.
Ask for 6 volunteers to come up front. If you’re a really small Primary, you can have 3 helpers and have each child hold two pages – one in each hand so they are separated.
Shuffle all the pages together with all the “I ➡ W I L L” letters facing outward and hand them to the helpers. Let them stand in a random order.
Ask the children to help you get the word back in the correct order by swapping two children’s spots after each time through the song. This will give you lots of repetition!
When they have the word “I will” all in the right order, ask the helpers to flip over their word cards to reveal a hidden message! “I will follow”. (Check from the back that they’re in the correct order!)
Sing through the song again and have the helpers raise the “I will” up high whenever they sing that part (5 times) and flip over the cards to “follow” when it’s time and then back again quickly to “I Will” for the next part.
Extension Activities:
For a harder challenge: Flip the pages so some are with follow letters and some have the I will letters. Have the children help you not only rearrange the letters in the correct order, but they might need some of the letters flipped to the other side! After each time through the song you can ask a helper to pick 1-2 letters to either flip or change order.
Follow Letters: Have the children come up with things that can help us follow His plan for each letter. Some examples could include:
- F: (Hold) Fast, (Have) Faith, (Be a good) Friend
- O: Obey
- L: (God’s) Light, Listen
- L: (His) Love, Learn
- O: Ordinances
- W: Walk (in His) Way, Work, (Read His) Word
