I’m excited about some of the new songs on this year’s Doctrine & Covenants Primary Song list! One of those is the Primary song Shine On (archives) and it’s sweet message about sharing the light of Christ that is in each of us. I love the Shine On lyrics to share your testimony and not be afraid to share your example and light with others.
This post will help you prepare to teach this song with a variety of different Shine On Flip Chart options including a custom illustrated flip chart or choose from a photo or lyrics only option, plus there’s even a slideshow version below.

Shine On Lyrics
This song is published in the Children’s Songbook Page #144
You can find Shine On sheet music here.
Verse 1:
My light is but a little one,
My light of faith and prayer;
But lo! it glows like God’s great sun,
For it was lighted there.

Chorus:
Shine on, shine on, shine on bright and clear;
Shine on, shine on now the day is here.

Verse 2:
I may not hide my little light;
The Lord has told me so.
’Tis given me to keep in sight,
That all may see it glow.
“Shine On” by Joseph Ballantyne (1868–1944). Used under public domain.
