Tell Me the Stories of Jesus Coloring Pages
How to Play:
Sing through Tell Me the Stories of Jesus song first before introducing the activity.
Ask the children what are some stories from Jesus’ life they remember?
Pass out a picture from the matching story to the children as they answer. After 4-5 answers, then pass out the pictures randomly to the teachers or directly to the children.
Sing through the song 2-3 time while the children either draw or color in a picture of one of the stories of the Savior’s life.
Have the children come up and hold up their pictures while singing through the song. If you have a lot of children that want to come up front, you can take turns to add additional repetition!
Additional Tell Me the Stories Color the Stories Extension Activities
Story Flipbook: Collect all of the children’s coloring pages or pictures. Line them up and put 2 staples on the furthest edge. Sing through the song together and flip through the pictures like you’re reading a storybook.
Team Stories: Have one large poster board (or the whiteboard) and have the children work together to create a collage picture as a Primary. Have 2-3 children come up front to draw a picture each time you sing through the song.
Story Match: Print out 2 of each picture and play a match game. You can have the children color them first or leave them uncolored and send them home with the kids after Primary. When they find a match with 2 pictures, share just a line or 2 explanation of the story from Christ’s life. Then, sing through the song again.
Add Story Actions: Come up with a fun action for each of the stories and then sign each action in sequence. There are 8 story pictures below and the song has 4 lines (or 8 if doing both verses). So sign 2 actions per line while singing through the song. Possible action ideas:
- Nativity: Rock a baby
- Baptism: plug nose
- Teaching Multitudes: Cup hands around mouth like a megaphone
- Healing the sick: Place hands on head
- Feed Hungry: Hand to mouth
- Loves the children: Form 2 hands into a heart
- Jesus died for us: Hands to face like falling asleep
- Jesus will come again: Point to heaven
