Have fun building in tons of repetition of singing 2-3 songs you’re working on or add in a mix of whatever Primary songs you choose in this fun Valentine’s Day themed Tic Tac Toe game for Primary!
How to Play:
Use the 1-page sized Tic Tac Toe or create a giant tic tac toe on the whiteboard by drawing the # shape on the board with a dry erase marker. Print and cut out the game pieces to match your board size – small, medium, or large!
You can laminate your game pieces and then attach a magnet to make them super easy to use and reusable!
Write on the back of each heart and each x game piece the title of a different song to sing. The last piece used each round is the song you’ll sing!
Divide the Primary room into 2 teams. You can split girls vs boys, older vs younger, right vs left, teachers vs students, or any other way you choose. Assign a color and game piece for each side. Hearts go first, then alternate between which game piece will start each round.
You can have 2 volunteers come up to play or line up 5 children from one side and 4 from the other. They’ll line up in a row then after placing their piece, return to their seat alternating placing a piece from each team.
If anyone gets 3 in a row they win and it ends the game.
- Have a competition between 2-3 songs! If x wins you sing one song if hearts win you sing another song and if there is a tie you can sing a 3rd song or let a volunteer choose between the two songs of make it music leader’s choice!
- Hide the game pieces hearts and x’s around the Primary room and go on a heart hunt before you start! You can sing through your selected songs while one volunteer looks for a heart and one volunteer looks for an x game piece.
- Bring in a grab bag assortment of ways to sign, such as egg shakers, dance scarves, paper plates, etc and randomly pick one out of the bag to use with whichever song ends up winning!
