Easter Primary Connect 4

How to Play:
To play Connect 4, first create a grid 7 wide by 6 high. You can print the chart pages below and assemble them, as follows. Or, simply draw a grid on the whiteboard.
Prepare the game pieces by cutting each egg out and adding a magnet or piece of tape to the back. You will likely want 18 game pieces per color (print 3 copies of page 2).
I’ve even created a cute title you can also post on the board!
Divide the Primary room into 2 teams. Each team sends up a child to place one of their colored eggs in the Connect 4 grid wherever they would like. After both pieces are placed, sing through the song.
Then, continue placing one piece from each team and singing through the song until a connect 4 is complete! A successful Connect 4 will line up four pieces either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
When a Connect 4 is complete, you can switch to a different activity, switch to fun wiggle songs to celebrate the win, or start the game over!
Extension Activities:
- Add a song or way to sing on the back of the eggs. The kids will randomly select an egg from all the available ones, then read what’s on the back. Pick between the two ways to sing or the two songs drawn or if you get one of each then do as it says! You can do songs on one color and ways to sing on the other, or let the kids have a little bit of say!
- Hide the game pieces around the room and let the kids hunt for the eggs during the song.
- For a smaller Primary, play teachers (or music leader) vs kids for your teams!
