The Faith Song is included as one of the songs to teach as part of April New Testament song picks. It’s also is included in the Book of Mormon Primary Songs list! Will you be teaching it this year?
I’m excited to share this really fun Faith Color Clues singing time activity to help teach the song piece by piece as the children help you decode the different colors and symbols as they learn the song.

Faith Song Color Clues
How to Play:
Sing through the song Faith (flip chart here) once before introducing this activity. It would be best to focus on just the 1st or 2nd verse.
Show the first page of the color code. Ask the children what do they see? Take 3-4 answers. Then say let’s sing through this first page and see if we can find any clues. Sing the first line and a half of the song.

What clues did we find? Talk about one in particular – maybe purple representing faith or blue representing “knowing”. Sing out the line to see if it fits. You’re right, look how good of a fit that is! You are so smart! Let’s sing the line again. You guys are great at decoding! Let’s add another page.
Add page #2. Oh, look – there are some more symbols and colors on this page. Hm, let’s sing this far as we hunt for clues. Sing through the 1st and 2nd page. You are also secretly helping to build up the song if they’re new to the song by repeating it in steps. Continue to pick out and decode some of the colors and symbols on the 2nd page and repeat singing.
Add the 3rd page and say that there is one more new color. Raise your hand if you spot it! What might it represent? Sing through the song as many times as it stays interesting and engaging decoding colors and symbols and learning the song.

Color Code:
- Red – Heart, Feel
- Orange – My, I
- Yellow Banner – Lord, God, Christ
- Green Plants – Seed, Planted, Grow, Grow
- Blue Oval – Knowing / Know
- Purple Box – Faith
- Pink – Prayers / Pray
- Gold – Time Words: Day, Time, Before, When, Whenever

Extension Activities:
- Cut up the color code into puzzle pieces and have the kids help rearrange and put the song back in the correct order.
- Exclaim that your flip chart got all messed up! Can the children help you add in all the missing words? Take a big king-sized sharpie and write the words over each color code space.
- Add an action to match each color as you decode each specific color. You might clap for purple, pat for blue, stomp on orange, stand on green, dab on pink, etc.
