Today’s singing time lesson plan is a really fun I Feel My Savior’s Love Secret Words activity! It will be a fun way to get the teachers involved (or use the Primary kids) and challenge the room to notice small actions matching secret lyrics.
This idea will help you teach I Feel My Savior’s Love in a unique and fun way that incorporates lots of people interaction!

I Feel My Savior’s Love Secret Words
How to Play:
Prepare your secret words and actions by putting each one you want to include in a separate envelope. You can use a big manilla envelope to make it look more official like a secret document, or just a small mailing envelope.
Sing through I Feel My Savior’s Love once before introducing the activity.
Pass out the secret words with one to each teacher or the Primary Presidency.
Explain that the teachers may do a secret action whenever the Primary sings a specific word. Tell the children they are the detectives and are on the case trying to discover the hidden words!
Sing through the song again and ask if anyone has any ideas of what one of the teacher’s word and action might be. Take a couple of guesses (or until you get one correct) and let the teacher say if they got it correct!
Continue to sing through the song and crack the secret actions until they have discovered all 6 hidden actions.
Secret Words & Actions:
- I – Cross or switch cross your legs
- Feel – Touch your face
- Me/My – Tap toes on the ground
- Savior – Look up to ceiling
- Love – Cross your arms
- He/Him – Scratch your body
Extension Activities:
- When they’ve cracked one of the words, add the secret word action to the white board and let the kids join in with the secret action! They can pick their favorite one to try or see if they can do all 6!
- Have everyone in the class match their teacher’s action and sing extra loud their keywords!
- Have one or 2 children come up front and pick one of the envelopes. Then, have them sit up front and do their secret word action all the way through the song. If they stump the class, add 2-3 more children to join them up front and sing through it again. Then, move on to the next envelope with new helpers.
- Have 1-2 children step out of the Primary room. Show the Primary room the new secret word and action. Then, have the children return and try to see if they can catch on and then name the word and action!
- Split the room in half and have each side pick one action. Compete to see which side masters their action, then switch.
