Pick a Candy Corn Singing Time
Pick a candy corn by a number or a cute character ready for Halloween. Have a song assigned to each number/character. You can write the song titles on the back or just have a list for you and the music leader to go off of.
*Hint: You can write your songs in the order you want to sing them, regardless of what number is drawn and just go down the list from top to bottom!
It’s as easy as that! Pick a candy corn and sing along to make your way through a wide variety of different fun songs! It would be great for practicing all your Primary Program songs or introducing your new songs for the next year.
Or, you can sneak in a review of some songs you’ve previously taught to help the kids remember them or have fun with some of the songs you didn’t have time to teach this year.
Extension Activities:
Match: Print two of each matching candy corn. Play a game of candy corn match! Flip over two until you find a matching pair – then sing your song that matches.
Hide & Seek: Hide your candy corn friends around the room! Let a child seek for your candy corn while you all sing. Then, sing the song matching the candy corn they found, next! They can stop when they find one or look for as many as they can before the song is over, then invite a child out of the room while your seeker hides them all over again!
Way to Sing: Review your choice of a sing song or 2. Instead of picking the song to sing, you can pick a fun way to sing! You can pick your choice of 9 ways to sing and assign them by number, or match them to the dressed up candy corn!
- Dino – Stomp on keyword
- Princess – Blow a kiss on reference to self
- Hero – Dab on keyword
- Fairy – Sway and Freeze
- Military – Salute on keyword
- King – Conduct with a pencil
- Mummy – Arms out in front of you
- Witch – Pretend to fly on a broom
- Vampire – Show me your teeth
