Search Ponder and Pray Melody Chart
How to Use this Melody Chart:
You can fold down the bottom row of words or leave them visible.
Ask the children to see if they notice any patterns as you sing through the song. Sing the first verse together.

See what they noticed. When they suggest things, such as “I noticed the Hearts” ask what they think the hearts represent. Sing through the verse noticing all the hearts and what words they might stand for.
- Point out that ponder is something we do in our hearts and our minds.
- Ask the children if they think the word “testimony” should be blue like the scriptures. Why or why not?
After going through some of the different colors, you can then tell them to sing ONLY the green circles, or ONLY the colored circles.

Key/Guide to the Melody Chart:
- Red Hearts = Our hearts, emotions and feelings (Love, Feel, Heart, ponder, deep inside).
- Orange = Ourselves, when we are talking about us! (I, My, I’ll)
- Blue = Truth / Scriptures (Holy Scriptures, testimony, they’re and search – both references to the scriptures, Scriptures).
- Yellow = Spirit

Love your resources! I signed up for your email list. How/when will we receive the exclusive subscriber printables? Can’t wait! Thanks so much!
You should get a welcome email immediately! 🙂
Not sure what’s wrong. I’ve been checking my email, including spam and trash for a couple of days now and can’t find it. Is it possible to resend? What identifier should I search for? Primary singing? Or your name? Thank you for your patience!
Thank you so much for all your amazing resources!! You’re such a blessing to this Primary chorister.
Hi! I love this and am planning to use it on Sunday, but I noticed on “do”(2 times) and on “pray” the melody map is showing the notes go down really low, but you don’t actually sing those low notes. Those are just the piano notes. Is there a reason you added those in there? I’m wondering if it will confuse the kids when they are trying to follow along.
Thank you for all your ideas!!
Thank you for catching those!! I’ve updated the chart.
I’m one of those choristers that don’t really know music, LOL. I did take piano lessons as a kid for a few years, but that’s about as far as my actual musical talent goes. I make up for the rest of it with creativity and desire to serve. 🙂
Is there any chance you can make a verse 2? I would be very grateful! 🙂
I love this idea!
This is a fantastic melody map! Thank you! You made my planning for tomorrow SO MUCH easier.
