How to Play:

Sing through the song Tell Me the Stories of Jesus before introducing your activity.

Reveal or post the words to your eraser pass game. You can write your words on the whiteboard or simply post the printable included here. Tell the kids they’ll need to pay careful attention to the words, because you’re going to need their help to cross off the “wrong” words so only the correct words are left! Sing through the song again looking for participating singers.

Call up 2-3 children to each cross off one word. I like to bring in a Pro King Size Sharpie (also awesome for your food storage labeling!!) as it makes it really fun for the kids to cross off the words – but you can use any type of marker or erase the words if written on a whiteboard.

Continue singing your way through the song and giving the kids turns to mark off some words from the chart until there is only ONE word left out of each trio of choices.

Pick up a pack of King Size Pro Sharpies on Amazon! I got the 12-pack, and I use them for so many things.

Extension Activities:

  • Have the children sing ONLY the words left up on the chart once you’ve finished the activity.
  • For a harder challenge, have the children SKIP the words from the blanks. You may need a blank word chart to help them stay on track.

Junior & Combined Primary Idea:

For an activity better suited for younger children, try our Tell Me the Stories of Jesus Pick a Picture activity.

For combined Primary groups, I would recommend starting with Eraser Pass with the older kids, and when only ONE word is left from the row, call up a Junior Primary child to add a picture from the Pick a Picture activity next to the word row!

The printable includes the activity for both verses, but I’d recommend just using this activity for your choice of the first or second verse and try another activity for the other verse to help keep the verses separate and distinct!
