You’ll love this cute themed activity perfect to kickoff summer or as a great end of summer activity to see how many of these fun Summer Bucket List activities the kids participated in this summer. This activity is a fun Summer Bucket List match game with different themed ways to sing ideas woven in and more fun ways to use these printables.

Summer Bucket List Game
Print out two copies of each picture on cardstock, then cut out all the cards. Line the summer activities up on the board, face down.
Ask the children what was their favorite thing they did this summer? We’re going to recreate some of our favorite summer moments with this fun themed activity today!

Play a game of match! Have a child come up and flip over any 2 cards – looking for a matching pair. If they find a match, leave those 2 cards face up and sing through your song with a fun coordinating way to sing.
The children can try to find a match for their personal favorite summer activities or simply remember where they spotted matching items.

Summer Bucket List Ways to Sing:
- Baseball Bat – Pretend to swing a homerun on keyword.
- Picnic Basket – Draw your dream picnic foods in the air.
- Pool float – Pretend to swim following the melody.
- Watermelon – Sing without moving your lips.
- Hamburger – Sing with your mouth open wide!
- Popsicle – Lick your popsicle on the first word of each line.
- Flip Flops – Stand up and stomp on all short words.
- Scooter – Pretend to ride a bicycle or scooter on chorus.
- Camping Tent – Find a spot to lay on the floor and sing!

Extension Activities:
- Have the kids come up with a fun action they’d like to try (such as the examples provided) for each of the activities. Have them think about something that wouldn’t be too irreverent that everyone could do to recreate the activity!
- Divide the children in the room by those who have and who have not had the chance to do each of these summer activities this summer. Have one group sing the first line, then the other group sing the second line of the song and continue that way through the song echo singing with each group alternating line after line!
- Hide the summer activities around the room and give the children a clue. Have them hunt (from their seat) for the summer activity while you sing. Then, have everyone point to the activity they think it was. Let a child go and retrieve it and put it on the board.
- Play a game of summer tic tac toe. One group is the food items (picnic, watermelon, hamburger, and popsicle) and the other group is the outdoor items (baseball, pool float, flip flops, scooter, camping tent). Take turns covering a space with a song title written on it. Sing that song then it’s the other teams turn to cover a space. Try to win a game with 3 in a row.
- Select a bucket list item. Invite a child to come up front and color in the item while you sing through the song.
