Camping Trip Singing Time Game
Sing through your choice of Father’s Day song with this fun review game. It’s also perfect for a Summer themed review idea with a mix of all your songs learn so far this year.
Tell the children to imagine they’re going on a camping trip with their dad or grandpa. Can you imagine a camping trip like that? What is something you might bring along with you? Let’s set the scene! Take a few responses and then pick out one of the object that was named and start to setup your campground scene! Add the tent, for example, or maybe a sleeping bag or a flashlight. Sing through your song of choice with the fun themed way to sing.
Next, you can ask what some things are you might do while you camp and pick those objects such as go on a hike, fish, make s’mores, star gaze, etc.
Keep adding to your scene while you sing your choice of song with repetition!
Extension Activities:
- Who can make the best campsite? Split the room into two groups. After each time through the song, pick which side sang it best and let them come to add an object to the scene. You can setup two separate campsites if you want to avoid competition but still encourage them to sing out well, then vote for which campsite you would rather stay at!
- Hidden Camping – Hide the campsite illustrations all around the room. Invite a child to hunt for ONE object from the scene while you all sing. Then add it to the scene. When an object is found, you can sing the rest of the verse on 2x speed!
- Let’s Match – Play a game of match by printing two of each art. When you flip over a match – use that way to sing or simply add it to your campground scene.
- Song Objects – Write a song title on the back of each item. Sing the song selected as they pick an item to add to your scene. Great for a summer round-up of all your songs learned so far this year!
