Easter Hosanna Binder Pictures
Sing through Easter Hosanna once before introducing this song. It’s a great way to switch gears from a different activity or help start off singing time.
Bring out your binder and tell the children you want to tell them a story today.
Flip open to the first page, which has 2 keywords and a photo for the first line of the song. Sing through the line together as you show the page, then flip the page and continue to sing.
After your first time through the binder pictures, slow down and sing one line at a time and ask directed questions about each page. Sing through the line again, before flipping to the next page.
Finally, end by singing the song together one more time flipping through the pages as you sing.
Directed Listening Questions:
- What was fulfilled? (Prophecies of Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection)
- What did Jesus do when he was resurrected? (Visit the disciples and people in America – “to man Himself revealed”
- What did Jesus look like when he visited the people? (White-robed and glorified)
- How might the people have felt when they saw Jesus? (happy, cried out in joy, received their Lord)
- What did the people shout out? (Hosanna!)
- What group of people did Jesus appear to? (Nephites)
- What helped the people know that Jesus had lived before? (the wounds in his hands)
- What is one of the titles they used for Jesus? (Savior, Lord, King)
- What is one way we can rejoice in this good news? (Sing!)
Extension Activities:
- Invite a child to help you flip through the pages. Sing as fast as they flip!
- Give the children a mini flip book with the same pictures and let them follow along! They can take their booklet home with them to practice the song!
