Pioneer Day Spin the Wagon Wheel
Assemble the Wagon Wheel:
- Print on cardstock either the 1-page wagon wheel or print the larger format wagon wheel pieces and assemble. There are two sizes of wheel rungs, one that fits 6 pieces and you can make a double sided wagon wheel or a narrow piece that fits all 12 pieces around the circle.
- To assemble, cut out all the individual pieces. Line them out and mount to poster board. Attach with glue, tape, or mod podge.

- Add a brad and an arrow to the center or add a brad to the center and attach the wagon wheel to a full poster board sheet so the wheel can spin freely from the background, then attach the arrow to the outer edge leaving room for the wheel to spin. You could also attach the wagon wheel to a piece of wood to represent the wagon with a nail in the center to give you a spinning point.
- Another option is to tape or stick the pieces to the white board with magnets. Then, use a magnetic spinning arrow in the center to select the piece. This gives you lots of flexibility on arranging the pieces and it’s easy to store!

How to Play:
Pick out a song or assortment of songs to sing through for singing time. You can choose an assortment of Pioneer Day songs or review your Program song list.
Invite a child to come up front and spin the wagon wheel. Sing through your song of choice or let the child pick a song from a prearranged list. Sing following the action randomly selected.

Continue to spin and sing through your song selections!
For an alternate way to play, assign each spoke of the wheel to represent a song instead of a way to sing. Spin to pick which song to sing together!
