St Patrick’s Day Song Quiz
How to Play:
Post the song quiz as a 1-page worksheet or one at a time. Read the clue, the first line of the puzzle, out loud for everyone to hear. The children can then unscramble the letters that follow to fill in the blank.
Each of the clues and words have something to do with St. Patrick’s day. You can talk about the connection with each song, or just mention it at the beginning of the game as another clue to help them solve for the missing words.

After you’ve solved the clue, sing through the song!
This printable is totally flexible, so you can adapt the answers to fit with a different fun activity if you want to use it with other songs.
Fun St Patrick’s Day Alternate Song Lyrics
Words for Once There Was a Leprechaun:
Once there was a leprechaun, leprechaun, leprechaun,
Once there was a leprechaun, silly, silly, silly.
In the spring he danced, danced, danced,
In the spring he danced, a jig, a jig, a jig.
Words for The Saints Go Marching:
The saints go marching one by one,
Hurrah, hurrah,
The saints go marching one by one,
Hurrah, hurrah,
The saints go marching one by one,
The little one stops to sing for fun,
And they all go marching over,
To the west, to get out of the mess.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Extension Activities:
- Consider adding in some fun ways to sing to add interaction and movement!
- Have the Senior primary work on the 1-page version individually or as a class. Then, when everyone is done, sing through the list in order.
- Add in a name that tune aspect by playing through the song while they work to solve the quiz! That will help make it a little easier, too.
- For fun, have them guess the page number. Give the kids a page range for the Children’s Songbook that the song falls within (such as 1-100 or 200-250) and take 3-5 guesses. Closes number wins a point for their side of the room!
